Salary: Band 4B ($109,207 to $147,751)

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
We are seeking a Systems and Platform Lead to take ownership of the Commission’s core service delivery platforms, including our Dynamics 365 CRM (Te Matatuhi) and Power BI environment.
This is a newly established role that will strengthen our internal capability. It is a hands-on role that combines platform ownership with active development and delivery.
You will play a central role in stabilising, improving and evolving our systems to ensure they are reliable, fit for purpose and able to support continuous improvement in how we deliver services to the public.
This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, reflecting a focused period of system enhancement, development and capability uplift.
What you will do
You will lead the day-to-day ownership and ongoing development of Te Matatuhi and associated platforms. This includes:
Designing, building, and implementing solutions within Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform
Developing workflows, automations, and system enhancements to meet business needs
Configuring and extending the platform using low-code tools and, where required, custom development
Providing end-to-end oversight of the Dynamics 365 CRM and Power BI environment
Ensuring system integrity, performance, and usability
Taking a hands-on role in troubleshooting issues and delivering improvements
Building internal documentation and improving system visibility and understanding
Working closely with business teams to translate operational needs into practical system solutions
Managing and quality-assuring vendor inputs where required
Supporting reporting, data quality, and insight generation
This role sits at the intersection of systems, service delivery and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who combines strong platform expertise with sound judgement and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience building and delivering solutions in Dynamics 365 and/or the Power Platform
Experience developing workflows, automations, or integrations (e.g. Power Automate or similar tools)
Strong understanding of system configuration, data structures, and platform capability
Experience working with reporting tools such as Power BI
Ability to translate business needs into effective system design and implementation
Experience managing vendors and providing quality assurance over technical work
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
The ability to work effectively in a small organisation where roles are broad and hands-on
